Passing FxPro identity verification

Verification is the step that catches most new traders, but finishing it before funding avoids a frozen deposit.

Three things to fix before you upload, not after.

Which documents pass first time

A current Australian passport or driver licence is the fastest proof of identity — the name must exactly match the name on your application, including middle names if you used one. For proof of address, a bank statement or utility bill issued in the last three months with your name, address and date passes cleanly. FxPro accepts documents in English, so no translation is needed for Australian clients.

Photograph the document flat, in good light, with all four corners visible. A blurry or cropped image is the most common reason for a second attempt. The same document can serve both identity and address if it shows both — for example, an Australian driver licence with your current residential address. If you have moved recently, update the address on your bank statement before you submit.

What sends one back

A name mismatch between your application and your ID is the top rejection. If you applied as 'Sam Smith' but your passport says 'Samuel Smith', the system will bounce it. The fix is to re-upload a document with the exact name or contact support to align your profile. Expired documents are rejected outright, as are screenshots or photographs of a screen rather than the physical document.

Proof of address fails when it is older than three months, when the address does not match what you entered, or when the document is not in your name. A mobile phone bill in your name with the correct address works, but a shared household bill without your name does not. Check every field before you upload; a second attempt is free but adds delay.

Why finish before the first deposit

If you deposit before verification, the funds sit in your client area but cannot be moved to a trading account until your documents are approved. That means your money is locked while you wait, and you cannot place a gold trade. Withdrawing an unverified deposit is possible but takes more steps than simply waiting until verification is complete.

Verification also sets your withdrawal limits. Unverified accounts may face lower limits or longer checks on the way out, so completing it early keeps your exit clean. There is no processing time shown here, but first-attempt approvals are faster than second attempts. Use the waiting time to run our margin calculator on a sample XAU/USD trade so you know the numbers before you fund.

FAQ

Common questions

Why was my proof of address rejected during FxPro verification?

Common rejection reasons: the document is older than six months, it’s not a utility bill or bank statement, the name doesn’t match your ID, or the address is incomplete. FxPro requires a clear scan or photo showing your full name, address and issue date. Re-upload a current document that meets those points.

Can I use an Australian driver’s licence for FxPro identity verification?

Yes, an Australian driver’s licence is acceptable as a government-issued photo ID. It must be valid, not expired, and all four corners visible in the upload. If the address on the licence is outdated, you’ll also need a separate proof of address document such as a recent bank statement or utility bill.

How long does FxPro take to verify my account?

Verification is usually processed within one business day, but it can take longer if documents are unclear or need manual review. You can speed it up by uploading high-resolution colour scans and checking that your name and address exactly match the details you entered on the application form.

Do I need to verify my FxPro account before depositing money from Australia?

You can often deposit before verification, but you cannot trade or withdraw until your identity and address are confirmed. Australian clients using PayID or bank transfer will see the funds held in their account, but the verification step is compulsory under anti-money-laundering rules that apply to FxPro’s regulators.

What happens if my verification documents keep getting rejected?

Repeated rejections usually mean a mismatch between your application details and the documents. Check the spelling of your name, your date of birth and your address — including the postcode. If everything matches, contact FxPro support with the rejection reason and ask for the exact requirement before uploading again.
